Seasonal Influenza (flu) vaccination

Your GP has you flu jab waiting.

If you have a long term health condition such as heart disease or respiratory, are pregnant, a carer or will be over the age of 65 by the 31st March 2019.

By having you vaccination at the surgery we update your record immediately and will also check your pulse for Atrial Fibrillation, which untreated can lead to stroke.

Patients aged over 65 (or will be by 31st March 2019) will be given an Adjuvanted Trivalent Vaccine (aTIV). Adjuvants work to boost your immune response to a vaccine and make it more effective and long-lasting. These are being provided by one supplier in batches to the whole country.

Patients aged between 18 and 64 you will be given a Quadrivalent vaccine (QIV).  NHS England informed us that you cannot choose which vaccine to have, this is dictated by your age.
