Medical Students


We also teach and train people who want to be healthcare professionals as well as qualified professionals who want to increase their skills. They may be present at your consultation. If you would prefer them not to be at your consultation please let reception or the doctor or nurse know.


GP - A qualified general practitioner who is a partner in the practice.


GP assistant – A qualified general practitioner who is employed    by the practice.


Nurse Practitioner -  A qualified nurse with enhanced qualifications and skills who can diagnose and manage many conditions.


Senior practice nurse – A qualified nurse who has special skills in minor illness and emergencies.


Practice nurse – A qualified nurse who can treat acute and long-term conditions.


Healthcare Assistant (HCA) – Trained by the practice and by going on day-release courses.  Carries out basic nursing tasks such as blood-pressure tests.


Phlebotomist – Trained to perform blood tests.
